The Chair of Structural and Functional Ceramics (ISFK) aims to provide engineering solutions to the ceramic industry with primary focus on structural and functional applications. The research fields cover ceramic processing (e.g. tape casting or 3D-printing), conventional and non-conventional sintering (e.g. cold sintering), material and component characterization as well as process simulation, with special focus on structural parts and electro-ceramics. One of our strong competences is the development of testing methods for mechanical characterization (e.g. B3B, RoR) of ceramics together with the corresponding fracture statistics, fractography, lifetime prediction and reliability analysis.
